We laugh like kids
When we fight like old lovers
When we have bitten off more than we can chew
In misplaced jabs
And missed care.
Learning of love and it’s ways
Through a you and me
Through hands of thorough tending.
We can never break already broken things
Let us instead kiss our band-aided hearts
And steady ourselves on being as we are.
All the untimely moments
Fashion us stronger ways
With a stay so true
We seem to love all the more.
Inferior ones have sworn we have seen our best days
But we know we have yet to be so much more than we already are.
