Last night I thougt I saw my ghost.

A stop sign said go once
He worked with old memories
And played with never fantasies
Gathered up stones made of her torn sheets
And threw them at his own shadow
That darkened the shallow pond

Oh for the seizure soul that irks
How dark little melodies are ever ringing
And he will always hate what was
And never recognize the good in the now
So much that the future is fucked

I saw him collect his teeth after a cold night
Left alone to his own devices
He had borne new death from barely life
I still recall one of the last things he ever said,
“Don’t look back when you are walking backwards, you’ll only fall further”
