and then we sing something pretty.

Some hearts have come with halos
But often they are false
And made of the apparitions I don’t know.
With all your safety placed in me
Love is more than youth
Or a china plate crashing against the wall.

Take a breath
While you can
Take a breath
In between these breaths
I am made of something broken and put back together.

And I lost my will
With my eyes
Plastered to yr memory
invidious comparisons constantly
How you remind me
Of what I’ll never want.

Chaos is like rainfall
It serves purpose
Chaos is like rainfall
It ruins everything
I am the confluence of both, and find no peace in this acknowledgement.
