worthlessness whilenesses

keep me like a charm
hide me under your breath
i'll weigh my worries
by the furrow of your brow
i'll bury boxes of your hangnail clippings
neatly wrapped in cellophane
with the spent dandelion wishes in the backyard
i'm no longer breathing like a hurried postman
i'm more calm
practicing plagerized prayers
looking at ceiling stars
make believing i could be worth all the whiles in the world
but willing to settle for a new heart to distort my memories.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
all the heavy kids
with bad genetics
and pointed fingers at
too many twinkies
or maybe just a horrible handed down family tree
i'm the one that sees about a thousand girls
try to measure up to the few pasted and glued
on the cover of all the magazines
i'm the one who sees embarrassed men
going to job interviews
with guts sucked in and shiny new watches
no one curses us
like the whims of society
that we make worse
by believing.
"destroy"
i'm sick of yr failures
defining who you are
i'm sickness
that stays sick
whenever i believe in you
all the hands with too many fingers
never enough rings to shine
to remind you
yr not what you own
but what owns you
cold lips puckered and cracked
scratches my neck
i'm sick
but not so sick
that i can't see your heart
bleeding platinum on your sleeve.
