requested words

hidden in yr false apertures
was the way you carried yourself
the way you burden your lovers
most people keep the way they feel
like a Junk drawer in the den or kitchen
the drawer you just dump yr extra things into
it is about every year or so
we clean out what we had so
long ago forgotten about
but you seem to be throwing yr junk
all over
unconsolidated feelings and thrown
into the lives of others
maybe you should invest in a shelf or den
a place to put all yr unwarranted moments
that others have no space for.

a tiny wonder
placing thoughts on the little ones
machines marching making burrowing
oh how i was the one
who wanted to dig in mother earth
Looking for bugs
i knew the love of the small and under rocks
were magnificent in their stature
were wondrous in their tininess
i too want to be a worker bee
a little cog in the wheel
of something so amazing
please lay me down in the field of perceived insignificance
i will make my mark no matter my size.

i too know about
the words of fellow men
how they tend to bend
when push comes to shove
when fist turns to glove
and the secret life
of men who practice morality at podiums
but carve notches on bed posts
what a sickness
to tell others how to and what for
when marking a moment
with flesh and always wanting more
you'll find greed is a selfish lover
she'll only greet you with a kiss
if you have her best interest in mind.

i know little of the ones who live so close
I've heard a door slam
a garage open
and shut
a scream
a bark
an empty garbage can on the curb late thurday afternoon
piles of tied newspapers
against the bay windows
old holiday decorations
mail from two days ago
a note for me to pick my lawn mower
but it all feels dim and barely
when i know
if it weren't for proximity
my neighbor wouldn't care whether i played my music at 3am
or if he grew his glass too long in summer.
