autumn lives

Hide and seek so much make believery
Tire swings dangling from the giant oak tree
Holding tightly to you and cuddled close
So many leaves leaving the trees and tumbling all over me
Trounce the piles of the leaves from jumping off our fort
Autumn skies make me smile so loud you can hear my shine

Fall you have fallen all over me again
And summer will be delivered soon
The rain makes matters more meaningful
We wait for the clouds to empty out
All days have endings and beginnings
Forget about the start and finish
Let’s hang close to the middle

I will cast the lamp light
On the days made unmade
Hued purple and gone
Bruises so bright I can see through my closed eyes
Television trays and foamy green couches
Autumn eyes you have leveled me
Plain and purposeful you have treated me lovely

All the leaves have fallen
And now they make for good soil
We will climb up new trees
And shake the best acorns down
So we have food for the winter.
