bryers park

it was the day
like before
but it all went wrong
with your eyes
marbled by the sky
i saw your lips move
words
escaped
about my lies
how they all came true
when nothing ever matters
especially you
and i took it
with a grain of what have you
i walked into the oncoming overcoming
and caught my breath
on sleep and inappropriate thoughts
my mother mopping up my past
with father despising her
so we calculate affection
caskets and calenders
so many days we can bury us
with a simple swipe and gulp

park benches
are safe places for break ups.
