She sleeps me.

I watched you take your nap
As I played with your hair
And tied with old shoe laces.

You would wake and kiss me soft
And ask me to turn up the radio
Some song about love and safety.

All the times you fell back to sleep
With half words spoke
Or almost-thoughts articulated.

So I take your hand and sigh
Knowing this is all I am
Me, reflected in your slow slumber.

I am so cold these days
Without your eyes to greet me
With out your lips to deliver me to bed.

Love, please rest your head on my psychic shoulders
For so soon I will be holding you calm and true.
