To the same old house
You called my home
And I denied under my breath
Experience has taught me to keep quiet
Now, no one knows me as much as you
But the scar’s are only as deep as the memories.
If I keep this shame to myself
Will you wear me like a diamond?
Proudly sharing me like an off-season cold
You can sample some arbitrary care
From whoever knows nothing of my hands
Bound and gagged I will lie to anyone.
I look like a vessel filled with false promise
I will sink due to the weight of you and yours
I will shake and flail like a fish out of water
And make a list of everything I can think of
Just to busy my hand and mind with nothing.
