A paltry heart beat
A poor attempt
Your words are weak and tired
You should learn
To shoulder the blame more quietly.
I don’t want you to feel anything.
And I can’t make your pain make sense
And it isn’t mine to configure.
I know feel all the ways I should.
I don’t need to know
That you are thinking of me
That you have carved my inscription
On yr holocaust wrist.
I don’t need your apologies
Some arbitrary words
That no longer mean something.
Maybe if you had thought of consequences
You would have felt the shame before you hurt me
And not the regret you feel now.
