please be my anything.

With a quiet hand,
An embrace and a tepid pulse
You were not afraid of me.
Holding you away from the streets
And the constant recycled mayhem.

I’m spreading my warmth to the stars
All the heat of my tender innerness
Cast the worst days you fear away.
I’m holding you dear and murderous
Keeping you pretty and safe to the bone.

Realize my loves breadth
Is only as far as you
No more and no less.
Your lips will sing my name
In joy and sorrow.

Spill these hours away until there is only time for us.
