Let’s not throw out the bath water with the baby

Let’s not throw out the bath water with the baby
We can fix this
All we need is a new love
A renewed care
A false focus
Thin lines balanced upon
and then crossed.

We can replace this infant favor
With a new interest
A hard line approach
To a placement of a stutter step backwards
Luke warm salvation seems of more consequence
Than a child that needs attention.

Let’s not sweat the big stuff
Like aborted love and afterbirth care
We know this spilled water remains like a stain
And I don’t recognize my own short comings
When my perception plagues my prescience
While a death may be at hand
The intrinsic water that has been threatened
Is of far more trepidation.
