deflowered

Take all of these flowers I held like your hand
And wrap them in yr mind’s gauze
I know how you were falling
And in the sad eyes of love
We ran into a soul made of so much truth
Made like a bed
Made to be unmade infinitely
We will take this day
Like we were here all along.

You with my heart on yr sleeve
Me with hands that can’t resist
The torn frill on her sun dress
Made me see that love is what you make of it
And is rarely what it seems.
And how you made me see
That a life that takes in all
Is more than a sum of it’s parts.

How the sun did shine only half the day, but you were there the whole time.
